We Guide You Through the Claim
We inspect your roof, document the damage, meet your adjuster on the roof, and walk you through every step with your insurance company. You stay in the loop, and you pay only your deductible.
How does a claim work with Hisway?
Hail and wind damage isn’t always easy to see from the ground. We’ll take a look for free and walk you through every step from there — you make the decisions, we bring the roofing know-how.
Step 1: Free storm inspection
We climb up, check for hail bruising, wind lift, and damaged flashing, and show you what we find — every hail hit circled in chalk and photographed.
Step 2: We document it & help you file
Photos, measurements, and a written report — then we help you get the claim filed with your carrier, the right way.
Step 3: We meet you and your adjuster on-site
We're on the roof with the adjuster so nothing gets missed and the damage is seen the same way we see it.
Step 4: Approved scope & materials
Once the claim is approved, we go over the scope with you and pick your shingle color and materials together.
Step 5: We build your new roof
Our crew protects your property, tears off the old roof, and installs your new one.
Step 6: Final paperwork + warranty
We help you wrap up the final paperwork with your carrier, then hand you your warranty.
What do homeowners ask about storm claims?
The four questions we hear first, answered straight.
What’s my out of pocket?
On an approved claim, just your deductible. The rest of the approved roof is covered by your policy.
Will filing a claim raise my rates?
We can’t promise one way or the other — rates depend on your carrier and your policy, and a storm claim is treated differently than an at-fault one. It’s a fair question to ask your agent, and we’ll give you our honest read before you decide.
Do I have to use my insurance’s preferred contractor?
No. It’s your home and your choice of roofer — you’re never required to use the company your insurer suggests. You can hire whoever you trust to do the work right.
What if the claim is denied?
We’ll re-inspect, take a hard look at why it was denied, and give you an honest assessment of whether it’s worth another look or not. No pressure either way.

Before anyone files anything, here's what we look at on your roof — so you know what we're doing up there and why it matters to your claim.
- Hail hits on the shinglesBruises you can’t see from the driveway, marked in chalk and photographed.
- Your downspouts and guttersWhat washes out of them tells us about the shingles above.
- Pipe bootsWe check each one for cracking or drying out.
- FlashingAround chimneys, walls, and vents — anywhere the roof meets something else.
- ValleysWhere two roof planes meet and the water runs together.
When storms hit our marketsyour area
Two offices, two different storm seasons. Here’s what to watch for where you live.
Nashville
In Middle Tennessee, roof claims follow the spring severe-weather season — the March-through-May stretch when hail and straight-line winds sweep across the Nashville Basin. One storm cell can bruise shingles and tear flashing across a whole subdivision at once, from Murfreesboro and Smyrna to Franklin, Brentwood, and Spring Hill.
Storm claims in Nashville →Knoxville
In East Tennessee, roof claims come out of the spring and early-summer storm season — the March-through-June stretch when hail and straight-line winds move up the Tennessee Valley and across Knox County. A hard hail core or a downburst can bruise shingles and lift flashing across a whole neighborhood at once, from Fountain City and Halls in the north to Cedar Bluff, West Hills, and Farragut out west.
